Cowboy boots, and other hints of cowboy apparel, such as belt buckles,tn requin, could be seen in big cities, even paired with business suits.  People found all kinds of different occasions to wear these boots- with jeans and skirts, suits and slacks.  It seemed that small doses of western apparel were being used to spice up outfits across the whole country.  Of course, in areas where western wear is more a part of daily life because it has to be, that version of style has changed as well.  Western dress wear, for example, has come a long way.  You can buy western-style wedding gowns and suits (or tuxes) and there's certainly something for every occasion to be found in the western wear style of clothing.

Western wear has even evolved separately in these two situations.  Western wear for the actual cowboy or girl living that lifestyle has remained true to some of the more functional roots that were at the heart of the style's development.  Fashion western wear, on the other hand, has made a few shifts in the big cities and inspired spin-offs that would be downright silly were one to live on a ranch or tend cattle and sheep for a living.  Still, as fashion is wont to do, western wear has been adopted  and will continue to evolve, both on the ranch and on the runway.
